Organic India is moving the needle across every aspect of its sustainability vision – from regenerative farming to solar panels. The team is earning kudos for its partnerships, certifications, and climate-friendly practices such as collaborating with Regenerative Organic Alliance, an organisation that oversees Regenerative Organic Certified® – a new certification that represents the highest standard in the world for soil health, animal welfare and farmworker fairness.
The power of
regenerative agriculture
We know climate change is a hot topic and regenerative farming is one of the coolest solutions around – it actively sequesters carbon while reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Organic India is on a mission to expand regenerative organic farmland and works towards carbon neutrality, placing transparency and sustainability centre-stage.
Regenerative organic agriculture is an essential step to combat climate change. If current trends continue, 90 percent of global topsoil is at risk of depletion by 2050; with industrial agriculture practices and deforestation for crops and livestock being top causes of soil degradation. Healthy soil naturally stores large amounts of carbon, acting as a critical carbon sink to reduce CO2 levels in our atmosphere. When soil becomes depleted, its carbon capturing capacity significantly reduces, further increasing atmospheric CO2 and intensifying the problem of climate change.
As part of its delivery Organic India provides independent smallholder farmers with resources, education, and support to cultivate practices that regenerate the land they grow on. Investing in farmers’ growth and knowledge is leading to healthy soils, biodiversity, and thriving communities for generations to come.

An eye on solar power
At Organic India’s LEED Platinum manufacturing facility, approximately 8% of the facility’s energy currently comes from rooftop solar panels, and we’re planning to add more panels this year to increase on-site renewable energy production. The remainder is generated through energy-efficient sources such as LPG.
The factory is designed to enable workspaces to maximise the use of natural daylight – passive solar energy. In addition, the factory walls are well-insulated, reducing the amount of energy required to cool workspaces.

Of course, sustainability doesn’t stop in the field, it travels all the way to your home which is where Organic India’s approach to Circular Packaging & Responsible Production comes in. The dream is for a world where waste doesn’t pile up, where materials are reused, recycled, or reclaimed, and where every product leaves a smaller footprint.
Packaging is one of the most complex sustainability challenges consumer brands face. While our current materials reflect years of thoughtful progress, we remain committed to constant innovation and finding even better ways to reduce our impact.

...of boxed tea materials by volume, are recyclable or biodegradable. Our Monocarton packaging is made from 100% recycled paperboard with minimum 30% post-consumer recycled content
Our infusion bags are made from organic unbleached, biodegradable cellulose based fibres from certified Organic abaca and wood pulp

...of our supplement bottle materials, by volume, are recyclable or biodegradable. Our light-proof dark amber glass jars are recyclable in curbside recycling schemes.
Where we need to do more, we are actively working on solutions to improve, for example we are looking for a solution to improve the recyclability of our psyllium canister materials.
